The Moorish King invites you...
to experience 6000 years of African World History.  The Casa del Rey Moro African Museum's unique multimedia exhibits highlight ancient, colonial, and contemporary periods of African History, on the Aftican continent, and throughout the African Diaspora.  A special focus of the museum is the African-Spanish, African-Mexican, and African-American heritage in Old Town, San Diego, and California.

The museum has six facets of interest:

The Research Center - Consists of 6000 books in nine languages, 8000 slides in twenty-six presentations, 400 audio-video tapes, high-speed internet access and countless articles, essays and master-doctorate thesis addressing six thousand years of African influences. Our internet retrieval system features instant high-speed on line communication with African-American Genealogical Societies, African-American Museum Associations, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the U.S., and around the world.

Internet Retreival System - The Internet can search thousands of African Heritage centers throughout the Diaspora in a multitude of languages. Other uses include the ability to send/receive e-mail, and do genealogical/Misc. research.

The Traveling Exhibit Program - Features seven interactive exhibits with study guides, which overlap the California public school's state Social-science framework established by Assembly Bill 1012, Higher Education Programs, and Museum Documents.  Traveling exhibits are available for short or long-term rental periods in your facility. The interactive study guides have pre and post-visit activities, such as geography map lessons, computerized vocabulary puzzles and videotapes. Thematic lectures with educational and historical resource materials may accompany the exhibits to provide a comprehensive multi-media experience.

    The seven interactive exhibits are:
